She is a graduate of the Boston Conservatory of Music and The New England Conservatory of Music where she earned her Master of Music in Flute Performance and graduated with Distinction in Performance. She is a First Prize Winner of the James Pappoutsakis Flute Competition in Boston and is now a member of the Executive Board of the competition.
Elaine has studied and performed in master classes with many renowned flutists such as Lois Schafer, Tom Nyfenger, John Heiss, William Grass, Jeanne Baxtresser, and Randy Bowman.
Elaine is an active freelance musician and has performed with various orchestras and chamber music ensembles throughout New England, including the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, the Mount Holyoke Festival Orchestra, and the Smith College Concert Series.
She has appeared as a soloist at the Gardner Museum in Boston, the Springfield Museum of Fine Arts, Tuesday Morning Music Club, Springfield's Music at First Concert Series, and at the First Church in Longmeadow Chamber Music Series, just to name a few.
As a vocalist Elaine has performed as a cantor and church soloist. She sang for the popular Boar’s Head Festival at The Publick House in Sturbridge, MA, and has performed lead roles in many area theatrical productions including "Nunsense,” "Man of LaMancha," "Camelot," and "Jerry's Girls."
